Aimpoint makes red dot sights for rifle, carbine and pistol, for the military and police. An Aimpoint can stay switched on: the battery lasts for years, and every model is tested against heat, cold, shock and immersion. Well-known models are the Micro, the COA and the enclosed ACRO for duty pistols with optics.

Aiming
Why a red dot?
With a red dot the shooter looks at the target, not at the front and rear sight. Both eyes stay open, so he also sees what happens around him.
- Parallax-free: the dot does not need to be centred to hit.
- Both eyes open: the field of view stays clear.
- Built for duty use, on pistol and carbine.
